The captain(s) (the person(s) sailing the boat) must be at least 18 years of age and must remain sober throughout the entire duration of the journey (the rental period). Valid ID may be required for proof of age of captain.
We allow alcohol on our boats, but in order to ensure a safe experience we limit the amount of alcohol taken onto the boat. Our limits are:
Either; two bottles/cans per person (of standard strength beer, larger, or pre-mixed spirits)
Or, one 750ml bottle of wine/champagne/prosecco between every 2 people
Or, one bottle of Pimms with suitable mixers per boat
No straight spirits allowed
We reserve the right to refuse access to the boats if any member of your crew is deemed to be showing signs of excess alcohol consumption before your hire period commences. Refunds will not be offered if we refuse your crew access to the boats due to excess alcohol consumption
Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated. Any reports of anti-social behaviour will be taken seriously, and your hire period will be ended if GoBoat management deem your behaviour to be of an anti-social manner.
The renter (the persons renting the boat) assumes the full responsibility of the boat and all it’s equipment.
The renter, and any potential captains have read and understood the following terms.
Management reserve the right to refuse hire at their sole discretion.
TERMS RELATED TO THE LIABILITY OF THE RENTER AND CLAIM FOR DAMAGES
The renter has the full responsibility and shall be held accountable for the boat and all its equipment during the entire duration of the journey.
In case of damages to the boat, the engine or other equipment the renter is liable for the full cost of damages.
TERMS RELATED TO BOATING
The renter is responsible for ensuring the boat is navigated safely on the canal in accordance with the regulations set out by the Canal & River Trust.
Irresponsible behaviour, such as significant consumption of alcohol, is not allowed by any of the persons on board the boats.
Boats are not allowed through any locks under any circumstances.
A captain must remain in the boat at all times.
A safe distance must always be kept between all other vessels and users on the water.
We encourage customers to all wear lifejackets during the entire journey.
No bathing, swimming or jumping into the canal.
Rubbish must not be thrown into the water; rubbish must be retained and disposed of in an appropriate manner.
No portable heating or cooking equipment allowed.
Music players and anti-social behaviour is not allowed on the boats.
All self-drive rentals are subject to canal weather conditions on the day; GoBoat management reserves the right to postpone bookings due to severe weather conditions.
TERMS RELATED TO RENTING
The renter is charged £25 for every 15 minutes beyond the agreed duration of the journey.
It is the responsibility of the renter to inform GoBoat if the boat is not back before closing time. If this is not done and GoBoat London deem it necessary to start a search for the boat, the expenses in connection with this will be charged to the renter.
GoBoat London is not obliged to cover expenses in case of cancellations due to weather conditions or lack of available boats as a result of theft, damages or the like. Any payment made by the renter will be paid back. Otherwise no refunds will be given in any circumstance, including but not limited to termination of the hire due to breach of these terms by renter and/or captain(s).
GoBoat London can at any time refuse or terminate this rental agreement if the above rules are not followed or if GoBoat deem that it is irresponsible to rent out the boat.
